Beth laughs a little. Sure, you get sore--but after a point, you don't really care, or at least she never did. Riding as long as possible was what made up for having to muck out the stalls later.
But her expression softens into something sadder a moment later. "She's still mostly yours." When the war's over, she wants to say, she'll be all yours again. But that's like saying when you don't have to fight the walkers anymore--there's a good chance it really means when you're dead, when everything's lost. Searching for something that might make some difference, she offers, "You could go for a ride now. If anyone comes looking for you, I'll tell them you're in the bathing tent. Can't be disturbed."
