Sonia bites her lip at that, but to press the point would, she thinks, be to intrude too much on Byerly at this early stage. The conversation's taken a darker turn than either of them intended, and Sonia craves to have that levity back. Some things she knew wouldn't stay secret for long, so she'd rather make a game of it, anyway. So instead she lets herself be baited just slightly, raising her eyebrows in turn.
