Pearl leans back a little in her seat, eyes narrowing suspiciously. It's not like she had an illusions about her and Lapis being best friends or anything of the sort, but to hear that sort of venom directed towards her is rather unexpected.
Either way, Lapis is fortunate that Pearl's too drugged up to get truly riled at that comment. "Um, excuse me, but she didn't ask you," she interrupts, casting a critical, squinty-eyed look at the other gem. "We can't all be super powered ocean stealing terraformers you know."
Pearl folds her arms over her chest and VERY POINTEDLY faces Diya dead on, shutting Lapis out, and babbles on without pause. "Despite what other gems might have you believe, I was perfectly capable of every ability that comes standard to members of our species and then some. And yes, that included storing things in my gem, as well as projecting hard-light duplicates and holograms. It might not have exactly been flashy, but I consider my self-taught talents to be my more important strengths anyway."
