It is a hint, but it's a small one, and if Diya is sharp enough to parse out what she means, then it's a piece Natasha doesn't particularly mind if she keeps. Her true colors are dyed in deep, even if she hides them well, behind smiles and bright eyes when she chooses to. This is a war, and there's no way she stays inside and plays courtier the whole time.

She's noticed the way the others don't look at Diya directly, but she's allowing herself to take up that little bit of freedom that being an outsider gives her, at least for the moment. It allows her to read the woman better, and right now she needs that. She hides that sliver of practicality under admittedly genuine curiosity.

"I noticed. If you don't mind me asking--" There's that slight tilt of almost-deference, the way she spreads her slender hands slightly. "How do the ghem and the haut fit together in this world? The haut offer some sort of leadership and oversight?" The real question is how Diya fits into this, but she couches it in generalities, plays the part of a curious-but-respectful outsider, familiar enough with politics to want to understand.
