He's silent for long enough that it suggests her question has stumped him. This does not result in Kaidan turning around and going back to bed like a properly civilized guest. It does result in another sigh, and the admission that "I can't build a wormhole -- although from my reading, neither can they -- but I've been here longer than you have. Our hosts are gracious, but they have no inclination of sharing anything meaningful with outsiders. So why don't you come with me?" he offers, and if it's more of a challenge than an invitation, it's at least delivered in a level tone.
