If he really can't shake off Miles (and it seems like he can't), he might as well be useful. So far, Miles is doing a better than average job of showing interest and curiosity. It's a good sign... sort of. Less a great sign for the secrets stuck in Daryl's throat, but he'll just have to tough it out. He always goddamn seems to.
"Over there," Daryl says, pointing toward another clearing. "Put it near a burrow."
If Miles is as smart as he says, he should be able to find it, or at least get close. The snow is light, and not too fresh, and these rabbits don't seem to hibernate. There are fair patterns of rabbit tracks in the snow, littering the clearing, and converging around the burrow and the nearby trap. Of course, most people who haven't grown up living off the land like Daryl have never even think to look down, and plod right over the delicate tracks that disclose the world's secrets. Time will tell which type Miles is.
