Daryl considers that, and wonders if it means anything, or if it's just for show. The idea of swearing an oath is so far out of Daryl's frame of reference, he doesn't know what to make of it.

But wanting to protect people, that, he understands. "You know her?" He asks. "From before?" Before they ended up here. That's why Daryl wants to protect Beth, anyway. She's the last piece of home he'll ever see, and more than that.
