She smiles at soldiers. Wash wonders how many she might've known, back home. He smiles with her, shrugging slightly, turning his attention briefly back to the horse they're walking next to, running a hand gently over her back.
"Sort of," he says. "Things are still pretty different here, than it was back home, but I'm doing what I can. Practicing a little, with a sword."
