It's the fact that Ratchet's ignoring him that makes York finally get up and go to the exercise room, to be honest. The pain is a distraction from how awful he feels, and if Ratchet's not talking to him there has to be a reason. Like always, he doesn't push, just does his own thing. Which in this case is pull-ups.
