Hey, they use shotguns in space. York loves them.

Wash keeps trying to put together a picture of her world, of her Earth, of just what she's dealing with back home. Scavenged weapons, concern for ammunition which makes sense if you're scrapping what you can, and sound, guns are loud. Hiding, running, desperate and pressed. That's the impression he gets, at least, and then she says that she'd explain it, if she could.

He glances at her. "That's fine." She has her reasons to keep that secret, he's sure, and Wash has always been a private, guarded person, always treats others the same way. He can't help but wonder, though, did she grow up somewhere that dangerous, was it always like that? He remembers his sisters, not that much younger than her, when he last saw them.

"You mentioned you've been practicing with a sword, too?" A quick change of subject, more for her benefit than his own.
