"Did she mention that?" She shakes her head, bemused. "I take it is quite a difference, where you come from, you both seem alarmed with the thought." A click of her tongue on that difference. "But marriage isn't about... a relationship, I suppose. It is about security for the future."

He is obviously... protective, of the girl, and she doesn't want to startle him to that point. Seems explaining is the best course of action.

"For instance, if this were my home and I a Queen still, I would take her on as a court singer and a dependant of my retinue, and she would be paid out of such funds. Granted, if it were my home, she would have been married years ago, I thought she would have been married already." Her hand waves as she explains, the needle still pinched between her thumb and forefinger. "That would be my only goal, here and now. Just the same, I want to see her cared for. Whatever form that takes. If it's marriage, well so be it, if it is to organize... a business for her, or something like it, than I shall be glad for it too."
