York was exhausted but he still took the extra time for Kaidan at the end of his shift, so he wound up leaving at the same time as Kurt. He was one of the new exotics, but still helping out. That earned him quite a few points in York's book. He'd like to think he would have done the same, but he'd been a mess when he showed up so there's really no telling. He's kind of a mess now, tired and hungry and worried his friend isn't going to make it, like so many of the Cetagandans they lose every day. This isn't the kind of thing he's accustomed to, and it's fucking hard to see. He's almost certain he'll fall sick, too, what with Tarn spitting in his face. Piece of shit.
"That's because I probably am," he tells Kurt, stripping off his own 'protective' gear. What little it will do. He just wants to strip off, take a hot shower, and crawl back to his bunk... but as Kurt tosses his gloves York catches sight of the scarring on the back of his hands. And the scans he'd been handed that morning in the lab come to mind. He'd hardly looked at them, except for one -- someone with an implant just like his. "Wait. You... you're Kurt?"
