"I had to trap those," she points out, a laugh in her voice. And now that Daryl's sick, she's doing more of the trapping than before. "I'm not wasting them."
Beth keeps an eye on him as they head inside, not entirely sure why--except that, as hard as Wash has been working, she wouldn't put it past him to give her the slip. But he doesn't, just turns a little thoughtful as they make their way to the cooks on duty.
"A few of them haven't been eating." Her own voice turns somber. After she's taken a bowlful of groats and roasted meat and gotten a few steps away from the people handing out lunch, she says quietly, "I wish we had something else to feed them."
