There was a reason the Spartan-III's augmentation procedures were so radically different from the II's. Kurt hadn't experienced nearly as many wash-outs from his Spartan-III program. They had revamped the procedures and now, Spartan-III candidates didn't die on the operating table. Yet...they still died because ONI and Ackerman deemed the sacrifice of three hundred Spartans acceptable. Kurt...didn't know if he agreed with that but at the end of the day, he had his orders and he had to follow them. Maybe not to the letter but what could he do?
