"Uh oh," he glances from her to the medic and back again with a comically exaggerated expression. "Go lie down, I'll visit you next."
A little squeeze in return and he lets go, settles back into his own blankets as she gets up, and plots his escape. That medic will be watching them now but she's been on shift since he was last awake. They're shorthanded but it's still bound to change out. He watches her move around the tent until he starts feeling woozy and closes his eyes for a moment...
...that turns into a few hours. When he wakes again there's no sight of the medic that shooed Carolina away, though, so he keeps his promise. Wraps his blanket around his shoulders and acts like he's going for the chamberpot, then detours when no one's looking. He settles down beside Carolina with a fever driven expression of glee, his smile crooked and victorious. "If I lie down they won't catch us."
