"He's an idiot," Ratchet says irritably. "Which is the only class of people who try to justify cruelty like that by saying it's necessary and then expect reasonable people to buy it. He has a hell of a reputation at home--I sure used to be scared of him--but... I don't know. He's just a person. I've been through some things lately that put people into perspective. He's vicious and crazy and usually a solid thirty feet tall but he's not this, this spectre of fear the way he likes to project himself. He's not larger than life. He's just an asshole."
