Gavalas's smile is warm and entirely grateful. He tends to hang back and give the Princess her space, but he does sort of regret not striking up a conversation with Wash until now. Gavalas had been wary of him at first, purely on Sonia's behalf, but he's proven himself to be a decent man, and Sonia clearly delights in him. Sonia may not always be the best judge of character herself, but in this, Gavalas is willing to trust.

"I appreciate that, Washington. Your friend Carolina has been lending assistance too, standing in as the Princess's handmaid -- although a very different sort of handmaid." The kind of handmaid that carries a sword and lets Gavalas have a nap every once in a while. He gives Wash a crooked smile as they start off in search of Sonia. "Care to join the Princess's guard, Wash? I'm sure milady would like to expand her entourage."
