His smile twists just a bit. And in a moment of weakness, something truthful breaks through the careful lies. It comes out in his voice with an ironic twist, a little sarcastic drawl in his voice that distances him from the uncomfortable sincerity of this sentiment. He says to her, "Maybe so. But what constitutes dishonor - that is where my opinions differ from most of the Vor class."

He gets control of his emotions, then, and continues on more neutrally. "To torture a helpless man - that is dishonor. I believe that truly. To disrespect the dead, even the dead of the enemy, is dishonor. To kill a child is dishonor." He shrugs and casts his eyes at the opposite wall. "Should I have cut my throat back at camp, then, Sonia? Should I have left my body for you to find?"
