Tarn's stunner is too close, pressed against Miles's chest, close enough for Sonia to see how high it's set -- if this outsider hits him with a heavy stun at this point-blank range, it wouldn't kill him, no, but -- what about his seizures? Could that send him into one of his fits, render him utterly defenseless? Doesn't Tarn know these things have a range of at least three meters? That she doesn't need to stand nearly so close? Sonia's mouth parts slightly as her breath stills, eyes on the stunner.
