Duv has firmly placed Sonia Vorbarra in the newly created 'historical figure' category. He knows the woman's fate in history, the part she plays in Barrayar's timeline. Getting close to her had not been a priority of his with concern that his knowledge of the period might bleed through and alter the course of events. As brutal as Barrayar's history would be after this, the outcome would be the best for the Nexus as a whole. Better than the alternative at least.
