sorry this is so late ugh

That is good to hear, honestly, and there's a ghostly flicker, a twitch of her lips at the mention that she can get out. Natasha knows the patrol schedules, but it's reassuring to know that if something goes wrong she has at least a partial chance of still making out. She'd give her one of the stunners she's carrying, but it'd be better if Byerly just stayed with her.

"He's right," she murmurs softly. They need her focused.

At that question there's a shrug of her shoulders, but Byerly cuts Sonia off before she has to think of something mild, a reassurance that they seem to have more tolerance for spies when it comes to the Exotics or something of that nature. She doesn't know what happens to her, not really. Interrogation, which honestly used to be her game, she was stunningly good at it, except here it's all chemical bliss and given how strange her body chemistry seems to be here she's not sure she can game that particular avenue, and it makes her skin crawl. And what then?

The only good thing is that she's useless as a bargaining chip; no one among the Barrayar would risk anything for her. Which might seem like a lack of trust in Wash, except the truth is more that she trusts him to be smarter than she is about these things. Knowing there's no one for who she's a weakness is a comforting thought, given her position, and the risk of what they're attempting.
