Still, it takes until the flower viewing party for Kaidan to actually approach her about it: one part being buried in helping Micah with the work of the Star Gate project to one part... awkwardness. Because Kaidan Alenko, aside from observing them at a distance in the care of their owners, has somehow made it to 37 years of age without interacting personally with a baby human.

Convinced that it's now getting to the point of ridiculousness that he hasn't said anything, and freshly escaped from a ghem-conversation that is about flowers on the surface but is probably also about politics, one-upmanship, sex and war, Kaidan turns up in another set of Cetagandan-style robes, but free of facepaint this time. The drink in his hand is non-alcoholic, and he offers her its twin with a nod. "So, uh... baby. It didn't come through the wormhole, right?"
