[ Wash will blame himself no matter what you say, Miles, you might've noticed this tendency of his by now. The best you'll get is him pretending not to for a while just so people will stop trying to convince him things aren't his fault. He had half a mind to pull them both out, realizing how compromised they were around Sonia, but he'd trusted them both to keep their heads, and Wash is the kind of man who places the responsibility of a soldier's mistake squarely on their officer's shoulders. Kind of. Mostly when he's the officer in question.

He should have known better. Made the case clearer, pressed the threats more . . . ]

They might not think to ask about you. Does there happen to be a time-traveler in the Barrayaran camp doesn't seem that high up there, unless Tarn said something after all. [ Has Wash mentioned Tarn before now? He doesn't think of it. Seeing Miles immediately set his mind to planning is -- soothing, in a way, he can follow that lead, but it's difficult to keep his mind on a straight track, now. ] But where the camp is, our current situation in terms of pre-reinforcement numbers . . .

And Natasha. [ So very, very heavily. Another drink of mead. ] They'll know about her, too.
