"Don't be disgusting, Byerly," Sonia says with a dissonant, glassy smile. "Miles didn't want to get into my pants. Tucker did."
She giggles outrageously and opens her mouth to elaborate, but ghem-Yulang swiftly cuts her off, glancing at Byerly and Tarn with a discriminating look. "I'd rather not discount it out of hand. Given what Doctor Niadem has uncovered in their research, it isn't entirely out of the question. I think it's worth following up on."
He turns back to the Princess, who's already opening her mouth to speak again, apparently very keen on sharing further details, but he curtly asks, "Tell me about this Miles. What does he know of the future of this war? Has he been aiding Vorkosigan?"
Sonia erupts into another bout of rather unhelpful giggles, hands to her mouth, although she's swaying slightly in her chair. "Oh, God, no. It's a secret. Count Piotr's the last person allowed to know. He'd kill Miles if he knew he had a mutant for a grandson..." She beams brilliantly at all three of them. "Did you know I have a grandson, too? Miles told me. I didn't want to know his name or any details, but Miles said he's a good man. That's enough for me." She lets out a sigh, and ghem-Yulang rolls his eyes slightly before prodding her along.
"Has he shared any knowledge of the outcome of the war?"
Sonia just shrugs at that. "I don't know. I didn't ask. I don't want to know. People always think they want to know their future, but really, it's a terrible thing. Why would you want to know what happens before it happens? Then you'd just spend your whole life waiting for it to happen...how miserable."
