They most certainly don't. Particularly perceptions of people - every person in the world, after all, wants to be perceived a certain way, and they work at it. But that image rarely lines up with their true inner self.

You, for example...I know what I see when I look at you. But I also know that every person is a bit of a liar. So it's a grand sort of mystery, wondering - what do I see that's really you, and what's just an act?
