[ -- Ah.

There's a flicker of something, in his expression. Live in the village, try to protect them. He has been doing everything he can, for them, but simply staying with them rather than the camp has never crossed his mind. Simple, though. Simple and easy, why hadn't he thought of it before, and he knows why. Because the Reds and Blues, they were never really soldiers in the same way, had a war thrust upon them, and Tucker's adapted to it better than most but he still sure didn't choose it except that he wanted to protect people. But Wash, well, Wash enlisted to fight. And when he nearly lost his chance to, he'd been quite willing to sign away his soul for the chance to keep fighting. He hadn't thought of it because he's. Not like that.

He's a soldier, and there's a war to fight. At first he'd wanted to stay out of it, but now, well.

Wash sags down slightly where he's seated next to Tucker's cot, that tiredness settling over him again. ]

Thank you. [ A quiet sigh. ] I'm sorry for all of this, Tucker.

[ And for. A lot. That you don't know. ]
