But Sonia only gives him a small, tight smile. Psychopath is maybe putting it a little strongly, and dead-eyed -- well, he'd just lost his last living son. But she's not overly fond of him, not with the relationship they've had, and their reunion after Sonia's rescue hadn't been the warmest.

I'm always told I'm overreacting, but everybody knows he's got a bad temper. But my word over his? Pfff. No, I'm very thankful for the father I have. He's a good man. Patient. And he doesn't get along with Uncle Yuri half the time, so there you go."
