After a successful attack on the Cetagandan base and subsequent rescue of Princess Sonia and Byerly, the Cetagandans retaliated almost immediately by dropping a nuclear bomb on the district capital, Vorkosigan Vashnoi. Now the Barrayarans are disheartened and devastated, while the Cetagandans finally receive the reinforcements and supplies they need. The villagers are finally getting back on their feet despite how many lives they've lost, and they've been taking in refugees from other nearby mountain villages.

The month of June will be sunny and hot, with highs in the mountains averaging about 34°C/93°F and lows at 29°C/84°F. Highs at sea level will average at 37°C/98°F, with lows around 31°C/88°F.

barrayar resources Food: Adequate: Food rations are still plenty per person. They aren't handing out extra rations, but everyone's getting enough to eat. Water: Abundant: The Barrayarans' access to fresh water remains open. There's even enough water for bathing. Weapons/Equipment: Sustainable: Even after the attack, careful maintenance and inventory means the Barrayarans still have enough weapons and equipment for future engagements. Medical Supplies: Abundant: It might mostly be cruder local medicine rather than galactic standard, but at least they have no shortage of supplies -- they still have some gloves, gauze, and basic topical antibiotics left over from their last supply drop. Facilities/Manpower: Sustainable: They lost men during the attack, but their combined forces are a stronger presence than Vorkosigan's District has had in some time. Additionally, repairs to most worn-down tents have been made. status Luckily, for once the Barrayarans don’t need to worry about their supplies, although the hot weather is something to watch out for -- even though it's cooler in the mountains, dehydration can creep up on you, especially if you're spending long hours on patrol duty. Morale is at an all-time low, but Sonia and some of the soldiers are doing their best to try raise everyone's spirits. intelligence Thanks to Lapis, Deanna, Natasha, and their extant informants Vex and Kaidan, the Barrayarans have a hefty amount of intelligence on the Cetagandans' activities -- including the deal Sei is secretly trying to cut with House Bharaputra on the black market dealing planet of Jackson's Whole. They also know they're on a schedule with the Star Gate, not only with the dwindling time window with the Niadem field, but also to beat the Cetagandans to actually using it.

cetaganda resources Food: Low: A month without power has led to the inevitable spoiling of most of the Grow Labs' food stores, and it'll be a little while before it's operating at full capacity again. The supply drop brought MREs, at least. Water: Abundant: The clean water buffer, on the other hand, has held up just fine, and now that the power is working, the treatment plant is operational again. Weapons/Equipment: Low: A whole month without being able to charge the power packs for any of their weapons, plus what they had to expend during the attack on the base, has seriously depleted their access to ready-to-use weapons. It'll take some time before the entire armory is properly charged again. Medical Supplies: Low: The Cetagandans burned through even more of their medical supplies in the aftermath of the attack, and even though the supply drop brought more, it still wasn't enough to completely restore how badly the medbay's stores had been depleted during the flu outbreak. Facilities/Manpower: Adequate: Thanks to the reinforcements and the ongoing repairs to the base, the Cetagandans are in a slightly better position to defend against attacks. status Things on the Cetagandan base lately have been turbulent indeed. On top of the Barrayarans' attack that rendered almost the entire base without power, and the subsequent retaliation by nuking Vorkosigan Vashnoi, Lady Diya was reportedly assassinated by Natasha Romanoff, who then immediately took flight and escaped the base. The only witness to the murder was Sei -- and Ba Talim. intelligence Micah has completed much of the theoretical research needed to proceed with the Star Gate Project, thanks to the aid of their lab assistants and the Cetagandan science officers they're working for. Micah has been delivered a message from Piotr officially making contact, and now they're working with the Barrayarans through their informants to formulate a plan to hijack the Star Gate to send everyone home, and see how many of the outsiders/exotics they can get on board.
